Things To Send In A Love Mail - Pen Pal Letter
--That You Probably Haven’t Thought About (yet!)

I went to the post office and had a long talk (during a time when there was no line!) with the post office clerk and got really into EXACTLY how much I can send, and EXACTLY how fat I can get away with the letter being before they charge me for a package. I went in the week before, when I was first starting to send Love Mail, and I was annoyed to find that they were charging me $5 per regular envelope because they were charging as a package instead of a letter.

I asked why and the kind man behind the counter was very helpful to show me the little slit that they slide your letter through to see if it is too big. It is ¼ of an inch wide. There are other criteria but just for the sake of this post, I have created this list based on what he showed me. I am including flat – REALLY flat things. That means that puffy stickers are not flat enough. Origami is most likely not flat enough. But you can cheat a little by stacking a mountain of books on top of your letters overnight before you send them (a trick I use often). Staying flat is where it’s at, baby!

So here we go! Welcome to my ULTIMATE flat list:

(You’re going to love this!)

1. DIY Shrinky Dinks

Did you know that if the number inside the recycle triangle on the bottom or back of a clear plastic container (usually cookies and baked goods) is a # 6, then you can use it to make DIY shrinky dinks? What a fun way to write any personalized message or draw an image that is unique to your stationery! Using permanent markers, draw your image and cut it out. If you want to make it a charm, punch a hole at the top with a hole puncher and it will shrink to a size big enough for a clasp or string. They will need to bake them at 350 degrees for a few minutes (basically until shrunk- depending on size). Be sure to include instructions!

2. DIY Color Scratch Art / Scratch Off Hidden Message

This is a Love Mail gift that you can make easily and near free if you have a crayon! Write a message to scratch off completely or fill the entire paper with multi-colored stripes or swirls with markers. Then, black out the entire paper with black crayon. Send with instructions to either scratch to make designs or let them know to scratch off the entire thing for a message. Another fun way to use these is to make jokes, with the answer blacked out and they scratch off the answer. This idea really is versatile, with a little imagination, you could come up with some really cute ideas! Let me know of YOUR clever ideas!

3. Coordinates to a Geocache

Participants use a geocaching app and GPS to find containers that are filled with surprises. You take the prize and leave another one like small toys, trinkets, jewelry, a book, etc. You can also create a private one if your Love Mail recipient is local. Just send them GPS coordinates by using your map program on your phone to find the GPS coordinates of where you are at the time of hiding it to find a special prize that you left in a hidden place just for them. Know your audience and make sure that you make it easier for people with limited physical abilities, or for a pro- make it harder!

4. Fact Cards

In today’s world of information, we can gather interesting facts and put them on decorative backgrounds, pretty frames, and clipart in Canva or another program. I personally use Procreate and love it. Then I put about 6 on a page. Google Scholar is the place to go to find research articles to find these facts. Just type in any subject and get ready to have your brain fed.

5. Friendship Bracelet

These are tiny enough to send if they are only string, no beads.

6. Precut Paper Bead Strips

Send complimentary colored strips of scrapbooking paper, old books or newspapers, colored paper, a precut piece of stretchy bracelet elastic, and instructions to make one cute bracelet!

7. My List - Your List of 5's

Send small lists of clever / silly things. Let’s face it, everyone has been sending playlists, book lists, and grocery lists (just kidding, I hope) but let’s jump off the deep end and send lists of 5’s. There’s many lists you can come up with! 5 things I found on my bathroom floor, 5 things that I found in my husbands beard, 5 things that I found in my belly button, 5 things that my cat dragged in, 5 things I saw on the way to the store, 5 things that I wish I knew before I … , 5 things I do before I go to bed, 5 things in my purse, 5 things that I found in a thrift store, 5 things I found in the river, 5 scriptures that touch my soul, 5 sayings or quotes that I love, 5 things that I love about you, 5 things that I do when I wake up in the morning, 5 things that I love about my cat, 5 things that I did to my… , I have cooties! Here are 5 ways that I think that I contracted them!
You might also print this article to send along with the Cooties 5, it is HILARIOUS and is a must read anyway:
newyorktimes.com

Here is an example of my list of 5's. 5 things that I found in my belly button:

8. Kumihimo Disk

This is a Japanese art form that means “come together”, “gathered threads”, or “braided cord”. The disks can be printed out and used to make bracelets or necklaces. Send one in your Love Mail with instructions or this easy to follow video tutorial on how to use it.

9. DIY Watercolor pallet & Mini Coloring Page

Ok, this must be one of my proudest ideas! Use watercolor pencils to create a small palette for them to paint a coloring page. The palette can be used just like watercolors. Just use a small wetted paintbrush and swirl the brush in the colors to make paint to use on the coloring page. I like to shrink down the coloring pages to half or one-quarter size. To be even more clever, make the palette a shape, like a heart or a design.

10. Sun Print Paper

I love this stuff. It’s not very expensive and adds a little fun to your Love Mail. These make pretty pictures by laying out little objects or things in nature to create a sort of shadow of the object by laying it in the sun.

11. Corner Bookmarkers

What I like about these is that you can create these by using paper that you are using in your letter to make it match the “set”, or your stationery. I like things to have complimentary colors, although not necessary at all! It’s just personal preference. What I do NOT like about them, is that they are tricky to get really flat. This is where the “mountain-of-books-on-top-overnight-method” works great!

12. Tiny Precut And Flattened Gift Boxes

These are easy to find either free or inexpensive that you can print and cut out for before you send. I have seen all kinds of cute trinket or treat boxes that would make a great addition to your Love Mail.

13. Chalkboard Stickers

I bought some of these at Dollar Tree that is one large solid piece that you can cut to size for whatever you want. I cut them into large enough pieces to lay flat in the envelope (don’t fold!) and gave each pen pal a couple of large pieces with the instructions to cut them for whatever project they wanted, and I gave some fun ideas on how to use them.

14. Color Palettes

Is your Love Mail recipient crafty? Having a few nice colors that go great together is handy when doing any project. In fact, when I am designing my Love Mail, I use color pallets to help me. You can find many color generators online that you can put in one color, and it will help you to match with hundreds of other colors! Send a few of your favorite color combinations!

15. Magazine / Newspaper Cutouts

I can find old magazines at garage sales and thrift stores that I can use to cut up. In my area, I have classifieds where I can ask for old magazines, and I have had great luck with getting nice stacks of magazines, and even sometimes vintage magazines will make it in there. Vintage magazines are fun because you can send cutouts of people, toys and products from the past, and it is nostalgic to see those fashions and products from the past The other things I like to send are articles, recipes with the beautiful glossy pictures of the finished meal, and if the magazine is vintage, send some outdated advertisements for fun.

16. Children’s Storybook Art (Think of books that are nostalgic)

I collect children’s storybook art. Not just any art- but wildly interesting, beautiful, colorful art. I buy vintage books at garage sales and thrift stores to cut up. Then I add my favorites to my art journal, where I collect my favorites pieces along with other whimsical things. When I find some that are small enough that I do not have to fold, I will carefully cut it out and send in an envelope to keep it protected. I give the instructions to use for an art journal like me, add to a gift package, laminate and use as a zipper pull, or Mod Podge to something fun like a jewelry box. Right now, I am loving the book art from “Where The Wild Things Are”, because it is a favorite from my childhood, but they are also being banned right now for being “too dark”.

17. Ticket Ephemera / Labels / Vintage Postage Stamps

You can find printable vintage-looking stamps, labels, tickets, you name it, you can find it! These are just fun little things that look interesting that can be added to their junk / art journal.

18. Recipient’s Name Meaning on Art

One of my favorite things that I like to do for my Love Mail recipients is to make their name on cardstock about the size of a bookmarker and paint it, and decorate it. Then, look up their name meaning and write it on the back. There is nothing more personal and meaningful than a person’s name!

19. Poetry

Do you write poetry? Send one of your best poems, or find one that you can copy. Better yet, print in a beautiful font, and print on decorative paper.

20. Open when’s”

Have you seen these? They are little envelopes with a message on the front that says “Open when you feel sad” or “Open when you need inspiration”, and things like that. Find some examples on the internet and make your own, or purchase from a seller making them. You can send one or a few!

21. Paper Foldable House

These are super cute and fun to make. Send a precut house and fold it flat for them to color and decorate.

22. Vintage Magazine Articles/ Pictures , Ads/ Coupons, and People In Vintage Clothing Cutouts

These are pretty easy to find at garage sales and thrift stores with a little digging. You can find magazines that are a decade or older and the people in the fashions of that day, the ads, and products are nostalgic to see today. For fun, throw in a few cutouts and a recipe with a beautiful glossy picture or interesting article!

23. A Packet of Seeds / Beautiful Seed Packet

Seeds of some kinds are flat enough to go through the mail ok. Others, well, you will have to send them as a package due to their bulk. But- for the flat ones, you can send them right in the packet they came in or make a cute envelope with decorative paper with the seed instructions printed or written on it to be extra fancy. You can also print out cute seed packets.

24. Seed Paper

Getting even fancier, turn those seeds into seed paper and cut or mold them into flat shapes. Then they plant the paper. You can also buy seed paper online.

25. Paper Dolls

Be sure to cut these out before sending to make this an extra fun surprise. There are so many kinds that you can find these days: Vintage ones, whimsical ones, and traditional ones.

Something that I like to do is send my Love Mail recipients some coloring pages, and then make a paint pallet out of watercolor pencils, and tell my recipients that they can swirl a wet paintbrush in the colors and it will create paint for their coloring page! Here are some cute coloring pages that are designed to be the perfect size for sending to your pen pal, or Love Mail recipient without having to fold the picture. And as a bonus, you get some paint pallets that you can cut out, color with watercolor pencils, and send with the coloring page!

Check out my adorable printables for small envelopes, perfect for paper dolls, stickers, scripture or inspirational cards, or photos!

34. Short Stories

These can be discovered online, in second-hand books at thrift stores, or at garage sales. I recently came across a “Chicken Soup For The Soul” book with stories just a page long—ideal for including in Love Mail. Additionally, you can find a one-page short story here, perfectly proportioned to fit in an envelope with just a single fold, accompanied by a charming illustration guaranteed to delight your pen pal or Love Mail recipient!

35. Song Lyrics

Have you encountered a song with lyrics that resonate deeply with you? Share those lyrics and spread the positive vibes.

This small gesture helps strengthen our friendship and supports their interest in maximizing savings through coupons.

37. Personal Art / Doodles

If you have a passion for art and creativity, consider spreading joy and affection by crafting a small, heartfelt card to send to someone special, or perhaps a whimsical doodle to brighten their day. These personalized pieces of art, imbued with your unique style and essence, stand out as more intimate and personal than anything mass-produced. They serve as a tangible expression of your thoughts and feelings, offering a unique and thoughtful way to connect with others and share a piece of your artistic journey. Such gestures not only enrich the lives of the recipients but also reinforce the value of personal connections in our increasingly digital world, highlighting the irreplaceable charm and significance of personal art.

38. How to Draw / Doodle

Consider sending a strip of step-by-step instructions for drawing something entertaining, or perhaps some doodle ideas, which happen to be my personal favorite. In this spirit, I’ve compiled a collection of enjoyable step-by-step doodles designed specifically for sharing. These can be a delightful surprise for your Love Mail recipients or pen pals, offering them a fun and engaging activity. It’s a creative way to add a personal touch to your correspondence, encouraging both creativity and connection through the simple joy of doodling.

39. Tickets

Affordable or sometimes free options like the zoo, movies, community events, botanical gardens, or the circus offer a variety of enjoyable experiences without the high cost. These outings allow your Love Mail recipients or pen pals explore, relax, and be entertained, from observing wildlife and enjoying cinematic adventures to attending free local events, wandering through lush gardens, or experiencing the thrill of circus performances.

40. Wine Labels

I find joy in incorporating these into my art journal, as their beauty captivates me. Whenever I come across an especially lovely one that I believe someone would appreciate, I delight in sharing it with them! Additionally, digital versions are available for printing, offering a convenient way to access and enjoy these beautiful pieces.

41. Stamps

Consider sending stamps to the elderly, college students, or anyone you know who is managing their expenses carefully. By doing so, you’re not just offering a practical gift; you’re also supporting their ability to engage in the thoughtful practice of sending Love Mail. This small act of kindness can significantly contribute to sustaining their habit of spreading joy and connection through handwritten letters, especially for those who might find the cost of postage a barrier to this heartwarming tradition.

42. Craft Patterns

Extend your generosity by sending patterns for macramé, crochet, bead designs, birdhouses, and cloth dolls to those among your Love Mail recipients who have a passion for crafting. This thoughtful gesture not only provides them with a source of creative inspiration but also supports their crafting endeavors, offering new ideas and projects to explore.

43. Cutouts (Fussy Cuts)

Fussy cuts refer to the precise cutting out of paper or fabric shapes featuring an array of interesting subjects, including people, animals, adorable campers, flowers, or fashion items. You can also find some here to print and cut, which adds a gorgeous touch to any Love Mail or pen pal letter when you add it to the very top of the stack of things that you send.  For added durability and a more substantial feel, consider printing these images on cardstock. This not only enhances the quality of the cutouts but also makes them more versatile for various crafting projects.

44.Scratch off Riddles

Create a riddle or joke in the style of a scratch-off lottery ticket, placing the answer at the bottom of the page. Next, cover the answer with clear packing tape to protect it. Combine equal parts of dish soap and silver craft paint (or any color of your choice) to mimic the scratch-off material typically found on lottery tickets. Gently apply this mixture over the taped answer. It will require multiple layers of paint, so ensure each coat is fully dry before applying the next. This process results in a homemade scratch-off that reveals the answer beneath, adding an element of surprise and fun to your riddle or joke. Discover some beautifully illustrated printable riddles in my store here, where they’re available for you to print directly onto cardstock, and perfectly sized for sending!

45. Pretend Money / Joke Money

In the past, I’ve come across some wonderfully whimsical play money. The highlight for me is the miniature money, and I enjoy slipping a few miniature hundred dollar bills into my sticker envelopes. It’s a delightful little addition that brings a smile to the recipient’s face. You can find some printable money here.

46. Vintage Cards

You can discover vintage cards at thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales. I enjoy admiring the variety of designs they used to feature!

47. Washi Tape Samples

Washi tape offers a wide array of options. Consider sending a glossy card, perhaps an old playing card cut in half, with some tape wrapped around it for easy removal. Keep it compact by sending just a few inches of various designs. That should provide plenty of fun possibilities for the recipient!

48. Pretty Paper

Any kind works well. Whether it’s scrapbooking materials, lovely tissue paper, vintage papers, or any other creative choice…or toilet paper with a pretty pattern, I’m just kidding, of course! Here, you can discover some exquisite paper, ideally sized for sending. I prefer to place them atop my Love Mail, just beneath the fussy cut (cardstock cutout), to enhance its appeal and tie everything together in the envelope stack, perhaps with a touch of elegant gold (or another colored) thread.

49. Pretty Fabric (Small Pieces)

Occasionally, I come across small fabric scraps that could enhance a junk or art journal. I particularly enjoy finding glittery fabrics, as even a small piece can add a charming touch to a page among other pretty elements.

50. Jokes

Pen the joke on paper, with the answer placed upside down at the bottom or on the back of attractive paper. I prefer cutting them into strips, folding them in half, and including them in an “Open-Me.” Here, you can discover jokes ready to be cut into strips.

51. Mystery segments

You can opt to print out a complete mystery if it’s short enough, or send it in segments to keep the suspense alive. By sending it in parts, you’ll leave them eagerly awaiting the next installment, wondering who the culprit might be! Here are some fun mysteries, perfectly sized and put into segments that you can print and send.

52. Habit trackers

You can discover habit trackers online, or find some here that are perfectly sized for monitoring any habit, whether it’s staying hydrated, waking up promptly, or staying active. Your mail recipient can simply jot down the habit they wish to track and keep it in their journal or on the fridge for easy reference!

53. “Build-A-Face”

Utilize magazine cutouts to craft a playful game of swapping eyes, noses, or mouths. Here, you can discover printables perfectly sized for printing out and sending to spark laughter.

I’ve stumbled upon some adorable I Spy games online. Additionally, I’ve crafted some I Spy puzzles with more intricate designs, each cut into quarters, perfectly sized to include in a Love Mail or pen pal letter.

55. Word Jumbles

I’m a big fan of word jumbles! It’s so much fun rearranging the letters to guess the word. Here are some perfectly sized word jumbles that you can send to your mail recipient!

56. Miniature Food Boxes

You can discover adorable little food and candy box templates online. Simply print, cut out, and lay flat for them to assemble: miniature boxes of treats like cereal, pop tarts, candy, and more.

57. Miniature Amazon Packages

Same as above. Print, cut, fold flat, repeat.

These exist! When I found these, I was tickled at how cute they are!

58. Miniature Magazines

These exist too! I have even seen them with the pages in them.

59. Miniature Newspapers

These are easy to create if you can get around in Word. Just make boxes and fill them with your own “news” that is personalized and use a font that looks newspapery. You can also find these in stores on the web selling digital products. Try printing on paper a little thinner than printer paper to get that newspaper feel.

60. Miniature Records and Album Cover

You can come across charming printable records on Etsy and other platforms! Simply glue and cover them with Mod Podge to achieve that classic “vinyl look.” Personally, I adore the vintage Christmas records – they’re absolutely adorable!

61. Money Saving Charts

Send compact printables that require no folding, perfect for your Love Mail or Pen Pal recipients to paste into a journal or planner- or provide a link to a complimentary larger version they can print themselves! There’s a wide variety available, including daily no-spend tracker images to color, goal sheets, and weekly savings tallies. All are designed to foster mindful money management.

62. Stickers-By-Numbers Page

Have you seen these, where you basically color a page using small stickers? They are addicting and I enjoy filling the picture with stickers!

63. Paper Airplanes, Hand Decorated

My dad sent me a paper airplane in the mail and I absolutely loved it. He decorated it by hand and it was special because he made it. You might have to flatten it by putting a mountain of books on top overnight to get it flat enough though.

64. Interesting Infographics

An infographic is a potent tool, visually simplifying complex information or data for easy understanding. Here, you’ll find infographics tailored for topics like mental health, life hacks, and more, designed to be both informative and visually appealing.

65. Cutouts of Hair-do’s You Like

Discover and share your preferred hair trends by scouring magazines or the internet, then cutting out and sending your favorites or ones you believe they could utilize. If you have long hair like me, seek out fun braids and styles that complement your hair length and personal taste. Tailor your selections to match their hair length and preferred style for a thoughtful and personalized touch.

66. Perfume Samples

You can still find perfume samples in magazines. If you come across some, send them to your mail recipient for a fun addition!

67. Stick-on Tattoos

These can be really cute and are not permanent! Find them online or in those machines with the gumball machines.

68. Riddle Written In Invisible Ink

As a child, did you ever try the classic trick of writing a message with lemon juice and then revealing it by holding it over a lightbulb? Another enjoyable method involves mixing equal parts baking soda and water. Using a fine-tipped paintbrush, paint the message and send it along with instructions to apply grape juice over the message to reveal it. This creates a chemical reaction that produces a different color, adding an element of surprise to the experience.

69. Puzzle With Message On The Back

I have a strong passion for painting with watercolors. There’s something incredibly freeing about creating art with them. One idea I particularly enjoy is painting a picture on one side of a piece of paper, leaving the other side blank. Then, I write a heartfelt message or a humorous poem on the blank side, cut it up, and either put it in a smaller envelope or send it in an “Open-Me.” It adds a delightful surprise element to the artistic experience.

70. Nail Art Stickers

I find these a lot at Dollar Tree, and sometimes I find some that are actually pretty cute and not just for children. Send a set to your Pen pal or Love Mail recipient!

71. Bullet Journal Cutouts

Sending pages to a bullet journal in a regular envelope isn’t ideal because folding them may damage the layout. Additionally, since you may not know the size of their journal, it’s best to send small cutouts that can be easily glued in. Consider sending items like pretty to-do lists, gratitude jar cutouts, cute cleaning lists, blank frames in various sizes, and other similar items that can enhance their journaling experience without the need for resizing.

72. Recipients Name Painted

I enjoy personalizing my Love Mail by painting the recipient’s name on a standard piece of printer paper or brown bag paper, then carefully cutting it out. This simple yet thoughtful gesture adds a special touch to each piece of mail!

73. Coordinates to something cool on Google Earth OR your hometown.

Share the coordinates to intriguing locations on Google Earth. Explore this article featuring 50 fascinating places to visit, complete with their coordinates!

74. Foreign Money

You have the option to request currency exchange services from your bank, enabling you to convert American currency into foreign denominations. Discover what you can obtain for a dollar in paper money, as coins tend to be heavy and bulky for travel convenience. Simply visit your bank and inquire about their available foreign exchange options to explore the possibilities.

75. Lettering Samples

Consider sending a page of hand-lettering samples for practicing the creation of beautiful letters, as seen on signs and painted objects. Hand lettering is the art of drawing letters in various styles, distinct from calligraphy, which typically employs pressure-sensitive tools. If you love hand lettering, create a practice page that offers an opportunity to explore different lettering styles and techniques.

76. Glow In The Dark Stars

These items are widely available and can be a fun addition to include just before sealing the letter! However, ensure to place them in a smaller envelope to prevent them from tearing the outer envelope during machine sorting at the post office because they are a little bulky.

77. Art Painted With Glow In The Dark Paint

It is always a little extra something when your art glows in the dark too!

78. Glow In The Dark Powder

Have you heard about this? You can mix it with glue or paint to create a glowing effect. This is ideal for those of us who enjoy discovering unique uses for everyday items, making it a fantastic gift to provide in a small Ziplock bag for them to explore its creative possibilities.

79. Small bits of colored threads

My absolute favorite type of thread for bundling the stack of mail items I’m about to send is metallic gold thread. It exudes such elegance when tied together like that. Occasionally, I include enough thread for them to wrap their own Love Mails or pen pal letters. You can send any color you prefer by adding it to a smaller envelope inside, along with a little note explaining its purpose.

80. Mini Vintage Maps

Print a miniature vintage map, or even better, a pirate map. For added authenticity, crumple it up multiple times to give it a soft, fabric-like texture, and consider tearing the edges slightly to enhance the aged look. This tactile approach adds an extra layer of realism and intrigue to the map.

81. Paper Spinners

If you found joy in playing with these as a child, then you’ll certainly have a blast crafting them out of cardstock!

82. Paper Feathers

I’ve come across the most adorable paper feathers on Pinterest, and I’m excited to try making them someday to send to someone special!

83. Blank Pretty Labels/Jar labels

Include at least 6 to 12 charming labels or about 3-4 jar labels that they can use to tidy up and organize their belongings.

84. Embossed Foil / Paper Towels / Paper Bags

I just discovered the world of embossing. Check out these cool embossing projects. You can send them to use in an art or  junk journal.

85. Origami / Origami Instructions

Once more, this can be challenging as they tend to become thick when folded. Consider employing the “mountain-of-books-method” to flatten them or simply opt for the flattest designs possible.

86. Iron-on’s

I recently stumbled upon adorable small iron-ons available at the Dollar Tree in my area! They’re the perfect size for embellishing a small purse or bag, adding flair to a bandana, or decorating a baby t-shirt.

87. Small Patches

While patches aren’t entirely flat, I still wanted to mention them because it’s possible to send one if it’s small and thin enough.

88. Gift Tags

Whether store-bought or homemade, both are wonderful options! Christmas is an ideal time to send these, as they’ll be fresh on their mind to make the most of them.

89. Spot the difference

Do you recall those children’s activity books featuring two nearly identical pictures, except one has a subtle difference? You have to look closely to spot the changes!

90. Oriental Newspaper

Whenever I visit the oriental grocery store, they frequently wrap my purchases in newspaper adorned with oriental characters. I find it enjoyable to examine and often cut out small sections to include in my Love Mail.

91. Paper samples/swatches

One of my favorite things to include in letters is special paper samples, like scrapbooking or crafting paper, cut to about a quarter page size (imagine a standard printer sheet cut in half lengthwise, then in half again widthwise). I really like to place a beautiful sheet just below the top layer of a bunch of mail. This helps to separate the flat gifts from the top layer of fussy cut or cardstock cutout, making the cardstock cutout more noticeable. To add a touch of class, I wrap everything up with a few strands of golden or silver metallic thread. This small detail makes the whole package of mail look incredibly elegant! The best part is, the person receiving it can use that paper again in their own Love Mail, for a craft, or in a junk journal.

92. Prayer Prompts

At times, it can be hard to figure out what to pray about. You can either handwrite and embellish some prayer prompts, write them on attractive paper, or print these prompts with lovely graphics on cardstock to make them durable for placing on a nightstand. No matter how you choose to do it, these prayer prompts are a wonderful inclusion in any Happy Mail, Love Mail, or pen pal letter!

93. Seeds of Virtue Cards

Make or purchase cards that focus on a key spiritual attribute—Faith, Love, Mercy, Trust, Gratitude, Joy, forgiveness, healing, abiding in the Lord, etc. with scripture references for each attribute- to enlighten and encourage deeper reflection and practice of these virtues.

94. Prayer Journal Page

Make or purchase a journal page that your mail recipients can keep in a journal, planner, or post somewhere to keep track of prayer requests from others, prayers that they want to keep track of for themself, as well as a place for scripture reference list to give inspiration.

95 Rebus Puzzles

A rebus is a pictorial puzzle where words or phrases are represented by images, akin to a visual riddle waiting to be solved! They offer an entertaining and engaging challenge. Draw some out with the answer upside down at the bottom or on the back!

96. Logical Fallacies List

Create a list of Logical Fallacies that add an element of intellectual challenge and intrigue to the recipient’s experience, encouraging critical thinking and thoughtful reflection.

97. Paper Napkin Cutouts

Many crafters love to use pretty designs on paper napkins to use to decoupage items with. Add a beautiful precut design to a Happy mail, Love Mail, or penpal letter.

98. Mini Baggies of Glitter or Confetti

Ensure that these baggies are securely taped shut. If you’re aware that your letter recipient enjoys crafting, they might appreciate a bag of glitter or confetti. Loose glitter is not suitable for inclusion in any letter due to the mess it creates upon opening. I strongly advise against including it in the envelope in that form. However, a very small bag is acceptable, ensuring it’s not filled too full to avoid adding a bump or hump in the envelope, as it could damage the envelope in the sorting machine at the post office. On the other hand, confetti is an acceptable addition to a letter, especially if it consists of larger shapes. Include a few pieces (up to five) of creative and fun shapes, or as a gift, send a small baggie to be used in their junk journal or to share with another mail recipient.

99. Paper Finger Puppets

Even though most of us are adults here, there is an element of whimsy to getting fun toys like this in the mail! If you are artistic, you can draw a fun character and then add strips on each side that you cut out and wrap around your finger, with the character in the front.

128.Sweedish Washcloth

My friend and I were shopping the other day at a craft store and I saw these super flat Swedish washcloths that had gorgeous prints on them and I thought, if they are small enough for your envelope, they would be perfect to send. These are those reusable washcloths that are made of cellulose and cotton, come flat, and then once you wet them they become these amazing little washcloths. Some people call them reusable paper towels. I just love them!  Granted, you would not be able to fit many more flat things in, but it would certainly be the perfect gift for many occasions- and you could probably still squeeze in a few games and a couple of stickers without it being too fat to send with a postage stamp! You might have to modify the size of the washcloth because the biggest size envelope that you can send is no more than 6 1/8 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches long, and the maximum weight (with extra stamps for over 1 oz.) is 3.3 oz.  I have not sent one yet, but it is on my list so I will probably write a blog on how it goes in the future and link it here. A hint though, I usually use either my extra large envelopes in my store that I print, or I use invitation envelopes that you would normally send a wedding invitation in, and they are pretty big! You would definitely have to weigh your envelope before you send it… but I am known at my local post office for always trying to…”push the envelope” with what I can mail ha ha ha!

129. Flat Thermometers
